Cristina Lugo with guests beneath a brass mobile sculpture in a Mexico City courtyard during Art Week

Each February, the international art world descends on Mexico City for what has become one of the most dynamic weeks on the global cultural calendar. The wonderfully art-obsessed all converge on a city that somehow manages to take itself very seriously and not seriously at all.

I have been part of this story since the early days. Now entering our tenth year of creating Mexico City Art Week programs, my team and I have had front row seats to the joyful chaos that inevitably unfolds when thousands of creative minds descend into one city.
